For more than 25 years, IIM has unequivocally supported encapsulation and tablet compression machines of pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, vitamin and supplements companies all around the world. We tackle your unique machinery challenges with a ‘CAN-DO’ attitude!
Our core competency is to keep your production machinery running! We do this through a multi-pronged approach. First, we DEFINE & DESIGN the critical wear parts BEFORE you need them! Second, we manufacture to exacting tolerances – meeting or exceeding the OEM design specifications. Third, we maintain inventory of these parts to minimize your downtime.
Our team includes expert IIM service engineers that keep your machines operating at peak performance. Customers routinely send us their machines for complete overhauls and upgrades as part of their maintenance programs.
In 2010, we unveiled the IIM2100 Encapsulator. Capable of producing 2100+ capsules per minute, it set the bar as the fastest capsule filling machine built in the Western Hemisphere. Often referred to as the “WORKHORSE”, the IIM2100 still out-performs almost all other similar and greater capacity encapsulation machines.
IIM offers a multitude of services including encapsulation training, machine overhauls, customized designs, consolidated purchasing, part repair and refurbishments, upgrades, offsite and onsite machine service, part manufacturing and detailed technical schematics. These services are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in English, German and Spanish.

NC State University Mechanical Engineering Capstone Senior Design Project Sponsor
For the academic school year of 2021/2022, IIM had the privilege of sponsoring a class for NC State Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Capstone Senior Design Project. We were thrilled with the dedication, innovation, creativity and forward thinking that the graduating NC State College of Engineering Mechanical Engineers brought to the competition! We know that these soon-to-be engineers will be strong and capable leaders of tomorrow's future!
IIM was assigned 30 students divided into 6 teams who were all assigned the same engineering challenge presented by IIM. We chose a design flaw that we have witnessed in the field dealing with translational and rotational motion that we have been struggling with to publish a better solution. Our goal was to explain to the students the current motion and it's likely failure points and encourage them to think both outside and inside the box! The teams took the 2021 Fall semester to brainstorm and theorize any possible solutions. Then during 2022 Spring semester, they were granted access to NCSU Mechanical Engineering Senior Design machine shop where they turned their theories into tangible solutions. The importance of thinking both inside and outside of the theoretical box was put on display by the difference's of the teams proposals. Some teams had great success adjusting the path of motion (inside the box) - modified sine curves, altering the acceleration curves of the motion, some teams even dove as deep to modify the jerk and snap values of the proposed motion. Other teams had great success investigating the objects that were being translated by the proposed motion (outside the box) - weight reduction, moment of inertia calculation improvements, friction coefficient variables.
At the end of the day, IIM plans to incorporate small portions of each teams proposal into our main goal to improve the translational and rotational motion that we introduced to the young engineers. We were very impressed and satisfied by each and every idea that was proposed back to us.
We are proud to support the growth of Science Technology Engineering and Math in our local community. These students will go on to accomplish goals they set for themselves and discover ambition to be the best engineers they can possibly be! We are more than honored to have been the final test of their foundation of engineering skills before they receive their Engineering degrees from NC State University and enter the world of engineers! We could not be more thankful to have such a wonderful opportunity!
